Labor Day Concert 2004

On Sunday, September 5, 2004, the Labor Day Concert, sponsored by the National Park Service, will take place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The National Symphony Orchestra will be performing. The public will be able to access the West Lawn at 3:30 p.m., and a dress rehearsal will begin shortly thereafter.

Due to the nature of current events, additional security precautions will be taken to ensure the safety and security of those in attendance. Anyone attending the event will be required to pass through security screening procedures before entering the event site. This will include an administrative search of all bags, coolers, backpacks, and closed containers.

Anyone planning to attend is encouraged to use public transportation. The United States Capitol Police would also like to remind everyone that there is a District of Columbia law prohibiting the possession of any open alcoholic beverages.

If there are any questions or concerns, you may contact the United States Capitol Police Command Center at (202)-224-0908.
