On Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at 8:00 pm, United
States Capitol Police arrested 128 members of the American
Disabled for Attendant Programs Today (ADAPT) organization
and charged with unlawful assembly. ADAPT had refused to
leave SD-215, a committee room in the Dirksen Senate Office
Building after several warnings to disassemble by United
States Capitol Police. United States Capitol Police were
aware of the special needs of the ADAPT members and all
of their needs were attended to.
